As I said in my original Post, I live in DC, I shoot in DC all the time and
I've never been stopped. I'm not saying that others aren't stopped either
just that it hasn't happened to me. So what's with NY? Well you could say
it's because they were hit 9/11. Well so where we and if it weren't for a
few brave souls we would have been hit twice.
All that said, I believe that NYC had some very specific treats regarding
the bridges and tunnels sometime not long after 9/11 so maybe that's here
these restrictions come from. Regardless, history has a tendency to repeat
itself so I maintain that this restrictive attitude will swing the other way
but only if we as a people don't remain apathetic to even the silliest
examples of restrictions on our civil liberties. Eventually someone will go
too far and the backlash will start a swing in the other direction.
